WTA Katowice Final Prediction: Petra Kvitova v Roberta Vinci

The inaugural Katowice final will see the top two seeds, Petra Kvitova and Roberta Vinci go head-to-head in what should be a very interesting final.  Kvitova has looked solid all week although she did have to overcame a late wobble to defeat Alexandra Cadantu, 6-0 6-4 in today's semi-finals.  Kvitova looked on course for a double bagel win at 6-0 4-0, but lost 4 games in a row as she started to miss a few balls and Cadantu just completely went for it.  Vinci has been even more impressive, losing just two games in her last two matches as she completed another 6-1 6-0 victory over another hot prospect, Annika Beck.

The big question will be whether Kvitova's power can hit through the variety of Vinci? In their only previous match-up, Kvitova won 6-3 6-3 on the way to the Wimbledon title in 2011.  I think it will be a much closer match this time round and Vinci has the capability to frustrate Kvitova with her excellent backhand slice, particularly if the Czech player becomes frustrated like she did at the end of today's match with Cadantu.  However, I think the power that Kvitova possesses will be enough to bag her a second title in 2013...

Prediction - Kvitova to beat Vinci in 3 sets
