Azarenka crushes Radwanska, Kerber up next in Indian Wells

Li Na goes tumbling
The first two quarter-finals promised much anticipation and excitement but both failed to live up to the expectation.  In the first women's quarter-final, Victoria Azarenka produced a clinical performance to thrash Agnieszka Radwanska, 6-0 6-2.  Azarenka was two points away from the double bagel before Radwanska broke the Belarusian's serve at 6-0 5-0 to avoid a complete embarassment.  It was a disappointing match and not a good advertisement for the WTA with the number one player light years ahead of the soon-to-be world number 4.

In the other quarter final, Angelique Kerber beat Li Na, 6-4 6-2 in a win that will see her break into the top 15.  Li was pretty woeful and praised Kerber's superb defensive skills after the match.  It sounded like another dour affair and i'm hoping that the final two quarter-finals, which will see Marion Bartoli take on Ana Ivanovic, and Maria Sharapova play Maria Kirilenko, will provide some closer contests...
