Kvitova halts Kerber in Stuttgart

After three marathon quarter-finals in Stuttgart, the last one was the quickest, but still provided some fine tennis as Petra Kvitova beat Angelique Kerber, 6-4 6-4.  Kvitova  hit some special winners as she closed both sets out in clinical fashion.  Kvitova is my tip for the title although I have to admit, I thought Kerber would win this match after watching her rout of Caroline Wozniacki.  One thing I have learnt with making predictions... NEVER go against your instinct! Kerber became frustrated in the second set at the lack of rhythm that Kvitova gave her and that was a telling factor in deciding the outcome of this match.  I am now backing Kvitova to win the whole caboodle and maintain her sensational winning streak on indoor courts.

Yesterday was probably the best day of women's tennis in 2012 as the top four seeds made the semi-finals for the first time since Wimbledon 2009.  The semi-finals look very exciting on paper so let's hope it continues. I do have one moan though... why do they keep going to the terrible camera angle at court level where you cannot actually see the lines?! It just does not make any sense!!!

Semi-final Predictions:
Victoria Azarenka to beat Agnieszka Radwanska in 2 sets
Petra Kvitova to beat Maria Sharapova in 3 sets

This is a link here to the WHOLE match of Stosur/Sharapova if you have three hours of your time ;-) The best point of the match was at 2:30:50.
