Sorana Cirstea produced one of her best performances this year as she beat Dominika Cibulkova in the quarter-finals of Stanford, 6-7 6-2 6-0. Cirstea hit 45 winners to 23 unforced errors although the match was overshadowed by a crazy first set dominated by some appalling officiating that consistently went against Cirstea... just take a look at the example below. Cirstea will now play Serena Williams in the semi-finals and will fancy a big win as Serena looked knackered despite a 6-4 6-0 win over Chanelle Scheepers.
