Benoit Paire v Michael Llodra (Paris, SF)
I am still revelling in a rare correct prediction for this week as Benoit Paire edged Gilles Simon in a tight two setter, 7-5 7-6(4). Paire faces another Frenchmen in the semi-finals in Michael Llodra. The fast-paced serve and volleyer has had another successful week at home and indoors. He followed up an upset win of number two seed Janko Tipsarevic in the second round with another straight sets win, this time against Jan Hajek. Both Paire and Llodra have played some good tennis this week and it should be an entertaining semi-final. They have never played on the main tour although Llodra did win a Challenger encounter in 2010. I predicted Paire to make the final at the start of the week and I will not go be going against my original prediction.
