ATP Dubai: Novak Djokovic vs. Tomas Berdych Final Prediction

Novak Djokovic
A successful set of semi-final predictions for Dubai today.  Lets take a look at the final...

Novak Djokovic v Tomas Berdych
Tomas Berdych took out Roger Federer today with a stunning 3-6 7-6(8) 6-4 semi-final victory over Roger Federer, saving three match points in the second set tiebreak.  It was a big win for Berdych, particularly having stared defeat in the face.  This win definitely proves that he has become much stronger mentally on the court as he used to fold in the important moments of these kind of matches.  This is his sixth victory over Federer and he is becoming one of the Swiss star's most tricky opponents on tour.

Berdych now takes on Novak Djokovic who beat Juan Martin Del Potro, 6-3 7-6(4) in the first semi-final.  Djokovic failed to serve the match out at the first time of asking, but he wrapped things up in the tiebreak.  The Serb world number one has had a strong week and is yet to lose a set on his way to the final.  Djokovic has a commanding lead over Berdych in the head-to-head with 12 wins out of 13 encounters.  The only win for Berdych came at the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2010, but since then it has been one way traffic.  Djokovic last beat Berdych at the Australian Open with a four set win.  Both are playing well, but Berdych really struggles to match the consistent striking of Djokovic.  I am confident that Djokovic will take the Dubai title and be the dominant favourite in Indian Wells too.

Prediction - Djokovic to beat Berdych in 2 sets (1 tight, 1 easy)
