ATP Indian Wells: 2nd Round Predictions, Day 5

Juan Martin Del Potro
1. Juan Martin Del Potro v Nikolay Davydenko
The most intriguing of the mens second round matches on Sunday will see big hitting Argentine, Juan Martin Del Potro take on Nikolay Davydenko.  The Russian player beat Paul-Henri Mathieu, 7-6 6-2 in the first round and he is enjoying somewhat of a resurgence this year on the ATP tour.  Davydenko actually leads the head-to-head by 3 wins to 2, most notably beating Del Potro to the ATP World Tour Finals champion in 2009 for his biggest career title.  Del Potro won their most recent match in Marseille last year as Davydenko retired when the match was finely poised at one set all.  This will be a tough match for Del Potro and I could see him losing a set, but not the match.

Prediction - Del Potro to beat Davydenko in 2 tight sets
