ATP Monte-Carlo: Novak Djokovic snaps Rafael Nadal's winning streak, triumphs 6-2 7-6(1) in final

Novak Djokovic produced a masterful performance to topple Rafael Nadal, who had crafted together eight straight years of titles in Monte-Carlo.  Djokovic was sensational for much of the first set with some bold, attacking play.  Nadal was on the verge of being bagelled in that opening set, but he got a foothold in the match and twice led by a break in the second set; in fact Nadal served for the second set at 6-5, but he struggled to close it out before Djokovic comfortably took the tiebreak to complete a 6-2 7-6(1) victory.  This was a massive win for Novak, particularly as he was 50/50 to play this tournament.  It should certainly add some spice into their future encounters, of which I expect plenty of throughout this clay court season.
