Radwanska conquers Tokyo

Agnieszka Radwanska capped off a fine win with a commanding 6-3 6-2 victory over Vera Zvonareva in the final of the Toray Pan Pacific in Tokyo. Zvonareva started the match in superb fashion picking up from where she had left off in her semi-final against Petra Kvitova, but she quickly wilted in surprisingly error-strewn fashion. I must admit I am not a fan of Zvonareva and it is performances like today that make me certain she is not capable of winning a major. Radwanska continues to flourish this year winning her second title of the year and looks to finally be moving with the times as she has added an attacking edge but still remains remarkably consistent and crafty around the court. The only concern I still have with Radwanska is whether she could produce a similar performance at a Grand Slam as she is still susceptible to getting blown off the court by a hard hitter who has a good day. All in all, I am delighted to see Radwanska win another title... the year-ending championships is probably just out of her grasp, but a good performance in China this week might make things interesting...
