Goerges beats Wozniacki again in Dubai

Julia Goerges is having another fairytale week just like the one she enjoyed on the indoor clay courts of Stuttgart last April as she defeated the former world number one, Caroline Wozniacki, 7-6 7-5 to advance to the finals of the Dubai Duty Championships.  This was Goerge's third consecutive win against Wozniacki and today's was all the more impressive as it took place on hard courts.  It was a typical match from Wozniacki as she offered pain-staking resistance from the back of the court but offered little in the way of attacking flair and winners - in fact she made just 8 winners compared to the 47 that Goerges offered.  Goerges did not play a great match today, but was impressive on the big points.  It still baffles me that Wozniacki continues to play in this way; yes, she will beat most players on the tour with her defensive abilities but she has no chance of beating the attacking players, like Goerges and claiming Grand Slam's with these tactics.  Goerges will play Agnieszka Radwanska in the final as she defeated Jelena Jankovic in a lopsided 6-2 2-6 6-0 semi-final victory.  Radwanska annihilated Goerges in their previous encounter at the Australian Open and I would be very surprised if Goerges were to go on and win the final, but stranger things have happened!
