Wimbledon Day 2: Schiavone beats battling Robson

Francesca Schiavone
This is just a quick note to say what a great day for the Brits with wins for Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong and James Ward! For so many years the media have ripped our British players to shreds for poor performances at Wimbledon so I hope there is much praise for them tomorrow.  Laura Robson did fall to Francesca Schiavone, but she put in a spirited performance; she wasted a set and a break lead but fought brilliantly to get back from 5-1 to 5-4 in the final set.  She saved a number of match points, one on an incredible point but unfortunately it was not to be.

Also what is with the organisers tonight? Wozniacki/Paszek was moved to Centre Court and they played four games when the rain arrived... they then decided to call an end to play, which to me was a baffling decision when there is a roof with lights, which would have easily allowed the match to finish.
