Men's US Open - Djok beats Fed in SF stunner

Novak Djokovic advanced to the US Open final for the first time in his career with a tremendous victory over Roger Federer, 5-7 6-1 5-7 6-2 7-5 in the match of the tournament. Djokovic saved 2 MP's in the final set demonstrating incredible spirit to defeat Federer for the first time in 4 attempts at the US Open. The final set was an incredible spectacle as both players produced some stunning tennis under immense pressure. Federer had two MP's at 15-40 on Djokovic's serve however Djokovic produced two fantastic winners as Federer was unable to raise his game on the MP's and put Djokovic under pressure. After Djokovic held, he then went onto break the Federer serve and serve the match out with some terrific rallies. For the third grand slam in a row Federer has failed to make the final and this performance certainly highlights that there is a belief in players that they can beat Federer when a couple of years ago this was not the case. Djokovic showed incredible fight and belief in his game and this was undoubtedly his best performance since taking the Australian Open title. We will definitely have a new US Open champion after Rafael Nadal eased into the final with 6-2 6-3 6-4 victory over Mikhail Youzhny. Youzhny did not play a bad match but the incredible consistency of Nadal's play was just too much for Mikhail and we now go into a final between Djokovic and Nadal; it's not the final everyone wanted but it should still be a stunning contest between two fantastic players.
