WTA Copenhagen - Caroline rules in Denmark

Caroline Wozniacki was triumphant in her return to action this week as she won the Danish Open in front of a supportive home crowd. It was not an easy week for Caroline with 3 of her 5 matches going to 3 sets. The toughest one came in the QFs where she beat up-and-coming Julia Goerges in a final set tiebreak. She also had to overcome Chakvetadze who was on a long winning run that stretched back to Portoroz. Wozniacki this week showed some improvements in her serving and is now fully over her ankle injury after a long break from action after Wimbledon. Things are starting to look up for Caroline who will want to flourish as we approach the US Open. This week was also highlighted by a strong performance by Klara Zakopalova who knocked out the number 2 seed, Na Li in the SFs. Na Li will be relatively content with her performance this week but will want to improve next week in Cinncinati where the calibre of players will be much higher.
